Oceansat-2 is state-of-the-art 3-axes stabilised spacecraft with a mission life of at least 5 years. At present only OCM data is being offered to international users.

 Orbit  Circular sun-synchronous, 98.28° inclination, 720 Km
 Payload  3 different payloads: OCM – Ocean Colour Monitor, Ku-band Pencil  Beam Scatterometer, ROSA – Radio Occultation Sounder for  Atomospheric Studies
  Spectral   range
 8 bands in range of 402-885nm
 Ku-band Pencil Beam Scatterometer:
 Frequency:13.515 GHz,
 ROSA: Frequencies of operation: L1: 1560-1590 MHz, L2: 1212-1242  MHz
 Resolution  OCM:IGFOV 360X236 Ku-band Pencil Beam
 Scatterometer: Footprint: 26 X 46 Km in HH polarization, 31 X 65 in  VV polarization
 ROSA: Horizontal resolution:<300 km for temperature and humidity,  vertical resolution; 0.3 Km (Low troposphere), 1-3 Km (High  Tropospere)
  Swath  OCM:Swath 1420km Ku-band Pencil Beam
